In ancient time perfume was the distillation of floral essences but today it is being created with both synthetic chemicals and nature based materials derived from animals and botanical means. Many of the chemicals used in perfume industry are the same chemicals as in tobaco.
Toluene, ethanol, acetone, formaldehyde, limonene, benzene derivatives, methylene chloride, and many others used for preparing perfume are known to cause cancer, birth defects, infertility, nervous system damage and many other injuries.These chemicals can be the cause for headaches,nausea,forgetfulness,loss of coordination and other respiratory or neurotoxic symptoms, eye, nose and throat irritation etc. The EPA found chloroform as well in fabric softeners.
So, we should be more aware of using perfume.Think green, think natural and overall - "be conscious."
